Our firm is committed to environmentally conscious sustainable design. All principals and
project managers on this project are LEED Accredited Professionals. On all projects,
sustainable options are presented to the owner, with details in regards to positives and
negatives, to allow the owner to make informed decisions as to the facility they will own and
operate. We try to balance being good stewards of the environment with the owner's budget
and long term operational and maintenance costs. Being a part of two of the prototype
schools for Washington Sustainable Schools (Washington Middle School and Cottage Lake
Elementary School) has allowed us to be on the forefront of implementing strategies. We
also participated in the UW Merrill Hall, which has a fully functional photo-voltaic system.
These projects have allowed us to see sustainable design during design, installation, and
now in practice so we know what works and what doesn't. All of us remain committed to the
US Green Building Council and being good stewards of the environment.
